From former Rolling Stone senior writer Michael Goldberg:

“Dave Monterey, a singer/songwriter in the tradition of Jackson Browne, James Taylor and the late John Prine, has been writing great songs since high school. Moving Violation (just out this year) is Dave’s best album yet. While the lyrics are by turns thoughtful, heartfelt and at times humorous, the mostly Americana-style music can rock, hit a folk-jazz groove, or go upbeat honky-tonk. A beautiful collection of songs from start to finish.”

Upon the 2024 Jackalope Records CD release of Dave Monterey Moving Violation (featured on Spotify as well as other major digital streaming platforms, and now available at The Next Record in Santa Rosa), Dave interviews on Sonoma County’s KRCB Radio 104.9 FM sharing a preview of the album’s songs and the stories behind them. The half-hour show may be accessed below.

For us to reproduce the sound of the record with live performance, we will be performing in full band style – a cool rockin’ Americana ensemble that includes Dave Monterey and Ivan Lee plus violinist Rick Loheyde (who is featured on the album), drummer Terry Baker and bassist Bryan Paisley.
